A list of new sites I’ve recently added to the “Elsewhere” and “People” links sections in the sidebar, plus a few articles and online releases I’ve been listening to this summer:

• EAR ROOM
  An excellent new site dedicated to publishing periodic interviews with currently practicing sound artists. They’ve started off strong, featuring interviews with Jez Riley French and Janek Schaefer.
• Katie Paterson
  UK artist whose installation “Earth - Moon - Earth” was easily one of the highlights of my summer.
• Sounding: Subjective Views on Modern Music
  Blog for sound artist Matthew Ross Davis, aka Craque.
• Public Hearing
  Sound art links and research by Chicago sound art expert Philip von Zweck.
• MPRNTBL
  Glenn Bach’s MPRNTBL netlabel has released a trio of excellent albums this summer: Aaron Ximm’s Live at so.cal.sonic, Lisle Ellis and Marcos Fernandes’ Live at Quiet, and Bach’s own Iteral.
• Learning Processing
  Easy to use (altho sometimes frustratingly incomplete) online companion to Daniel Shiffman’s book by the same name, which I’ve used a lot this summer as I continue to muddle through teaching myself programming with Processing.
• Empty Exhibitions
  ARTINFO’s survey of “top five” exhibitions of nothing.
• Slow Sound
  Glenn Bach’s site which is both a manifesto for a new approach to mindful sonic performance as well as a document for an upcoming festival in Long Beach, California he is curating featuring artists who share the Slow Sound aesthetic.
• The Synching Ship
  Blog written by master sound constructivist Mike Hallenbeck (aka Archive).
• All Tiny Creatures
  Madison, Wisconsin-based band led by Thomas Wincek whose debut album SEGNI has been gracing my playlist this summer.
• Razia’s Arthouse
  Blog by BBC arts reporter Razia Iqbal which offers features on the UK arts scene.
